Save a new intro template

Save a reusable email template alfred_ can personalize and send with a four-word prompt.

Web ChatSMS

The prompt

Add a new [TEMPLATE NAME] intro template that includes the following context: [BODY]

Templates are how you stop rewriting the same intro email twenty times. Save once, name it after the company or pitch, send it forever, see Send an intro using a saved template for the other half of this workflow.

What alfred_ does

  1. Saves the template under the name you give it
  2. Stores both the subject line and body
  3. Marks placeholder fields it should personalize at send time (recipient first name, company, etc.)
  4. Available immediately, say “Send [name] intro to [person]” any time after

What to include

Required:

  • A unique name (this is how you’ll invoke it later)
  • The body of the email

Optional but useful:

  • A subject line: “Subject is ‘Potential black TiO₂ additive for RF / RAM absorber formulations’”
  • A standard CC list
  • Notes on tone (cold vs. warm, formal vs. casual)

Multiple templates per company

Power users often save several variants:

  • Raven-RAM intro, for RF absorber prospects
  • Raven-display intro, for display industry prospects
  • Raven-warm intro, for people who already know you

Naming is up to you, but be specific enough that you’ll remember which is which.

The signature gotcha (read this)

If your email provider auto-appends a signature (Gmail and Outlook both do, by default), leave the signature OUT of the template body. Otherwise every send gets a duplicate signature.

Tell alfred_:

“Remove all signatures from inside the template body. Gmail auto-appends, so keeping signature in the template causes duplicates.”

This applies to all your templates at once if you ask.

Editing or viewing existing templates

  • “Show me the Raven-RAM template”
  • “What intro templates do I have?”
  • “How many clean intro drafts do you have?”
  • “Update the DeltaX template, make the opening line warmer”

Variations

  • Can you add new Raven-RAM intro template that includes the following context?
  • Save this as my DeltaX intro template
  • Add a Zetic intro template, subject 'Quick intro', body below
  • Update the Raven display template, replace the second paragraph
