Gmail

Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace account to alfred_ with Google sign-in. alfred_ doesn't see your password, and you can remove access at any time.

On this page

alfred_ connects to Gmail with Google’s own sign-in. Google handles your password; alfred_ doesn’t see it. Connecting a Google account also brings its calendar, Google Drive and Google Tasks.

How to connect

  1. Open Settings → Connected Accounts (or Integrations → Google)
  2. Click to add a Google account and sign in
  3. Review Google’s permission screen and click Continue
  4. You’re back in alfred_, and your mail starts coming in right away

Recent mail shows up within a minute. Older mail fills in over the next few minutes.

What alfred_ asks for

  • Read your email, to show your inbox, flag what needs you, and find things when you ask
  • Send email for you, for replies you approve
  • Change labels, to archive and organize mail when you ask
  • Your calendar, to schedule and find open time

Your mail is used only to run your assistant. We don’t sell it, share it, or train models on it.

More than one account

Connect up to six accounts in any mix of Google and Microsoft. Repeat the steps for each. See Connected accounts.

Removing access

Either way, alfred_ stops reading and sending on that account right away.

Troubleshooting

“This app is blocked” or admin approval needed. Your Google Workspace admin restricts third-party apps. Ask them to allow alfred_ in the Workspace admin console under Security → API controls.

Connected, but no mail. Give it a minute. If the inbox is still empty, check that the account shows as connected in Settings → Connected Accounts.

“Needs reconnect”. Google’s sign-in expired, usually after a password change. Click Reconnect next to the account.
