Where you can use it
| Where | Best for | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Web app | Longer work: reading threads, reviewing drafts, setting up routines. Start from Home or the chat panel on any page. | Chat on the web |
| Text messages | Quick questions and quick actions on the go, no app needed. | Text messages |
| iPhone app | Your inbox, calendar and tasks on your phone. | iPhone app |
| Claude and ChatGPT | When you’re already working there. Your email and calendar come in through the alfred_ connector. | Claude and ChatGPT |
| Slack | DM alfred_ or @mention it in a channel. | Slack and Microsoft Teams |
It’s the same assistant everywhere
Start something in one place and pick it up in another. A draft you asked for by text can be reviewed in the web app; a routine you set up on the web sends its results by text. What you ask alfred_ to remember is remembered everywhere.
If your Mac gets your iPhone’s texts, you can also text alfred_ from Messages on your Mac.
What needs your OK, wherever you are
Reading and finding happen right away. Anything that sends, invites other people, or archives mail is shown to you first:
- On the web and in the iPhone app, a card shows exactly what will happen, with a button to confirm.
- By text, alfred_ texts you what it’s about to do and waits for “yes” or “send”.
- In Claude and ChatGPT, sends and invites are shown to you first, and writing is a separate permission you grant. You can allow specific actions to go ahead without a preview under Settings → Privacy → Actions without asking.
The exceptions are automations you set up yourself: an email rule that forwards mail, or a routine you’ve told to send without asking.
See Drafts and approvals for the details.
