How sharing starts
-
An admin asks
From the Members page of the admin console, an admin can Ask to share.
-
The teammate decides
Only the teammate can turn sharing on, and they choose whether the people given access can only read, or can also send.
-
Shared inboxes
People given access open the shared mail in Shared inboxes: everyone who shares, or one person at a time, with search and folders like a normal inbox.
The access log
Every read and every send through a shared inbox is logged under the name of the person who did it. The teammate whose mail it is can see the log.
Stopping
The teammate can stop sharing at any time. Access ends right away.
What sharing doesn’t do
- It doesn’t give anyone a teammate’s password or sign-in.
- It doesn’t share chats with alfred_, texts, tasks or routines.
- Sharing one person’s mail doesn’t share anyone else’s.
A shared inbox in alfred_ is different from a team address in Gmail or Outlook, like support@, which belongs to the team rather than to one person.
