The prompt

What am I waiting on?

The work that hurts most is what you’re waiting on without realizing it. alfred_ scans email and tasks for the open loops and surfaces them so you can nudge.

What alfred_ does

  1. Scans email for threads where you replied last and the other person hasn’t responded
  2. Reviews tasks marked “waiting on” or “blocked”
  3. Cross-references with stated deadlines (from email or task metadata)
  4. Returns the list ranked by age and importance
  5. Optionally drafts polite nudges for the highest-priority items

Tips

  • Run before signing off Friday: nudges sent Friday afternoon land Monday morning
  • Be specific about the kind of waiting: “external replies”, “internal deliverables”, or “decisions from leadership”
  • Pair with nudging: “Show me what I’m waiting on. Draft polite nudges for anything over 5 days old.”

Variations

  • Show me everything I'm blocked on.
  • Who owes me a reply?
  • What deliverables haven't come back yet?
  • List my open loops.
