On this page
alfred_ connects to Outlook and Microsoft 365 with Microsoft’s own sign-in. Microsoft handles your password; alfred_ doesn’t see it. Connecting a Microsoft account also brings its calendar, OneDrive and SharePoint.
How to connect
- Open Settings → Connected Accounts (or Integrations → Microsoft)
- Click to add a Microsoft account and sign in
- Review and accept Microsoft’s permission screen
- You’re back in alfred_, and your mail starts coming in right away
What alfred_ asks for
- Read your mail, to show your inbox, flag what needs you, and find things when you ask
- Send mail for you, for replies you approve
- Change mail, to archive and move it when you ask
- Your calendar and contacts, to schedule and know who you’re talking to
Work and school accounts
Some organizations require an IT admin to approve new apps. If you see “Need admin approval”, see Microsoft admin approval. You can grant consent yourself at get-alfred.ai/admin-consent if you’re an admin, or forward that link to yours.
More than one account
Connect up to six accounts in any mix of Microsoft and Google. See Connected accounts.
Removing access
- From alfred_: Settings → Connected Accounts, then remove the account
- From Microsoft: account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access, then remove alfred_
Troubleshooting
“Needs reconnect”. Microsoft’s sign-in expired, usually after a password change. Click Reconnect next to the account in Settings.
