Schedule a meeting from an email thread
Schedule the meeting AND email the attendees about it, in one prompt, using context from the thread you're discussing.
The prompt
Set up a meeting to discuss [THREAD/TOPIC], schedule it and email them.
This is the highest-leverage cross-tool prompt in alfred_. One sentence replaces: open Calendar → find time → create event → switch to email → write message → paste meeting link → send.
What alfred_ does
- Reads the email thread (active context, or you reference it)
- Finds availability, yours plus the recipient’s, if you have access
- Creates the calendar event with attendees and video link
- Drafts the email with the meeting details
- Shows both for review, calendar invite + email, before sending
The two flavors
You know the time:
“Schedule a Zoom call on May 8th 6am PST with Dylan and Hart regarding the Raven discussion”
alfred_ creates the event, sends the invite (which is itself an email), done.
You don’t know the time yet, propose options:
“Setup a time to discuss the Wilhelm email, propose multiple slots Monday between 8am and 5:30pm”
alfred_ finds open slots, drafts an email proposing them, and waits for the response. After they pick, you say “schedule the 2pm one” and alfred_ creates the event.
Pulling context from a thread
When you say “discuss this email” or “discuss the [topic] thread,” alfred_ reads the thread and includes context in:
- The calendar event description (“Discussion: term sheet review, follow-up to email from 4/28”)
- The proposal email (“Following up on our thread about the term sheet…”)
So the recipient gets the context without you having to write it.
Multi-step coordination
For setups where people need to align before scheduling:
“I need to setup a time to discuss the term sheet with Mike Schoenenberger at Enfinite. Him and I need to align before I can do anything with Wilhelm.”
alfred_ recognizes the dependency and just sends the email asking Mike for time, doesn’t create the event yet.
Adding attendees from the thread
“Schedule the call from this thread, add everyone on the email”
alfred_ pulls all email participants into the meeting invite.
When the recipient’s calendar isn’t shared
You can only see calendars you have access to. For external recipients:
- alfred_ proposes your free slots in the email
- Once they pick one, alfred_ confirms it and creates the event

Variations
- Next week's ARM meeting in calendar, add Zetic, and also send an email to Zetic about it
- I need to setup a time to discuss the term sheet with Mike Schoenenberger at Enfinite
- Setup a time to discuss the Wilhelm email, propose multiple slots Monday between 8am and 5:30pm
- Send an email to Robert at Shepherd Ventures asking when we can sync, propose 3 times next week
Best for
Closing the loop on an email thread by scheduling, the moment where most people open three apps and copy-paste between them.
