Reply to a client from your phone
On a job site or between meetings: text alfred_ who to answer and what to say, check the draft it texts back, and reply "send". It goes from your email account.
The prompt
- Reply to [PERSON] at [COMPANY] and say [WHAT TO SAY].
The problem
A client emails while you’re on a roof, in a showing or in court. You know the answer in one sentence, but writing it properly on a phone, in the right thread, takes ten minutes you don’t have. So it waits until tonight, and the client waits with it.
What you need
- Your email connected: Gmail, Outlook or IMAP. See Connect your tools.
- Your phone connected: save your number under Settings → Preferences and text alfred_ once. See Text messages.
What you get back
Here’s a reply to Dana Reyes, in the thread “Thursday crew, east wing”:
“Hi Dana, thanks for the heads-up. The crew can do Friday at 8 AM instead. I’ll confirm with them today.”
Send it?
“Hi Dana, the crew can do Friday at 8 AM instead.”
Send it?
Then
Reply “send”, “yes” or “do it” and it goes from your email account, in the same thread. Anything else, like “warmer” or “mention the deposit”, changes the draft and asks again. Reply “cancel” to drop it.
Limits
- alfred_ replies by email from your connected account. It doesn’t text your client.
- Name the person or company, and the subject if they’ve sent you several things. Check the name and the thread in the draft before you send.
- If the date you’re promising is also a calendar change, ask for that separately: “and move the Thursday crew booking to Friday 8”.
