Kanban

Cards

Creating, moving, archiving, and managing kanban cards.

Cards are the unit of work on a kanban board. Each card has a title, optional description, status (column), due date, and owner.

What you can do with a card

  • Create — “add a card to my Sales board: send proposal to Acme”
  • Move across columns — drag in the UI, or “move the Acme card to Done”
  • Edit — change title, description, due date, assignee
  • Archive — move to the archive (recoverable any time)
  • Delete — permanent
  • Link to email or task — when a card came from a thread, click through to source

Card fields

  • Title — short, action-oriented
  • Description — long-form context
  • Status — which column the card sits in
  • Due date — optional, surfaces in your task list and Brief
  • Owner — usually you, but can be assigned for shared boards
  • Labels — tags for filtering (e.g., “high priority”, “client work”)
  • Linked items — emails, tasks, notes connected to this card

Asking alfred_ to update cards
