Connect your Microsoft 365 / Outlook inbox to alfred_ via Microsoft OAuth.
alfred_ connects to Outlook (Microsoft 365) using Microsoft OAuth. Microsoft handles authentication directly — alfred_ never sees your password, and you can revoke access at any time.
What permissions does alfred_ request?
- Read your mail — needed to triage incoming messages
- Send mail on your behalf — needed to send replies you approve
- Modify mail — needed to archive noise and apply labels
How to connect
- Open Settings → Connected Accounts
- Click Connect Outlook
- Sign in to your Microsoft account
- Review and approve the permissions screen
- You’ll be redirected back — sync starts immediately
Work / school accounts
If you’re on a Microsoft 365 work or school account, your IT admin may need to approve alfred_ before you can connect. We’ll surface a clear message if that’s the case — forward it to your admin.
Multiple accounts
You can connect any combination of Outlook and Gmail accounts. Switch between them in the inbox header.
Revoking access
- From alfred_ — Settings → Connected Accounts → trash icon
- From Microsoft — account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access → remove alfred_
Troubleshooting
”Need admin approval”
Your IT admin has restricted third-party apps. Send the consent URL to your admin and ask them to approve alfred_ in Entra ID (Azure AD) → Enterprise applications.
Token expired
Click Reconnect in Settings — usually triggered by a password change or session expiry.
