Forward an email with added context
Forward a thread to someone and add a personal note in the same prompt, alfred_ writes the message.
The prompt
Forward this to [PERSON] and add: [YOUR NOTE]
Forwarding is rarely just forwarding, there’s usually a “and please do X” attached. alfred_ writes the cover note for you in one prompt.
What alfred_ does
- Forwards the email (or the whole thread, if you say so)
- Drafts a personal cover note based on what you said to add
- Shows the forwarded draft for your review
- Sends after approval
Common patterns
Forwarding to your assistant or spouse:
- “Forward this to my wife, she’ll handle it”
- “Forward all the receipts from this morning to my wife”
- “Forward this to my assistant and tell them to schedule next week”
Forwarding to a colleague for review:
- “Forward this to Connor, does this look right?”
- “Send this to legal and ask them to review by Friday”
- “Forward to Sarah, what do you think?”
Forwarding with a long context note:
- “Forward this to Margaret and ask her to update the itinerary. One night less in Warsaw, Sunday in Narvil, one extra day in Krakow. We should discuss with the Guides about which tour to move.”
Active context
When you’re viewing an email in alfred_, “this” / “this email” / “this thread” all refer to it. You don’t have to repeat the subject. Same with SMS, if alfred_ just summarized an email for you, “forward it to X” works.
Forward whole thread vs. last message
By default, alfred_ forwards just the most recent message. To forward the whole thread:
- “Forward the whole thread to Connor”
- “Forward this entire conversation to legal”
Bulk forwards
For multiple emails at once:
- “Forward all the receipts from this week to my wife”
- “Forward the last 3 contract emails to legal”

Variations
- Forward this email to Margaret and ask her to update the itinerary, one less night in Warsaw, Sunday in Narvil, one extra day in Krakow
- I got a few amazon orders this morning, can you forward them to my wife
- Forward this to Connor with 'thoughts?'
- Forward the contract to legal and ask them to review by Friday
Best for
Handing something off, to your assistant, your spouse, a colleague, with a note explaining what they should do with it. Saves you from writing 'Hey, can you take a look at this?' for the hundredth time.
