Reschedule a meeting
Move an existing event to a new time and notify attendees with a draft email.
The prompt
Move my [DAY] [TIME] meeting with [PERSON] to [NEW TIME], and apologize on my behalf.
Rescheduling is two steps, moving the event and notifying attendees. alfred_ does both in one prompt.
What alfred_ does
- Locates the event (by day/time, attendee name, or active context)
- Checks the new time against your other calendars for conflicts
- Updates the event
- Drafts a notification email to attendees explaining the change
Tips
- Specify the new time clearly: “to 4pm”, “to next Tuesday morning”, “give me three options”
- Add tone direction: “apologetic”, “brief”, “no apology needed”
- Multi-person events: alfred_ checks all attendees’ availability if their calendars are shared
When it’s a conflict
If the new time conflicts with another event, alfred_ surfaces both options before moving:
- Reschedule both
- Pick a different new time
- Cancel the conflict instead
