The short answer: text alfred_: “Find the gallery link I sent the Morales wedding and send it back to Ana in her thread.” It searches your mail, including what you sent, finds the link, and writes the reply in Ana’s thread. You see it before it goes, and it sends from your own email when you say send.
The request that arrives at a second shoot
You shoot forty weddings a year plus family sessions in the off season. Each client gets a gallery link and a download link by email, usually six weeks after the date.
Months later the requests come back. “Hi! My mom wants to order prints, can you resend the link?” “We lost the download email, is the gallery still up?” You’re at a session, or at dinner, and the answer is somewhere in your sent folder from August, under the same subject as forty other galleries.
The native ways, and where they stop
Searching sent mail on your phone. Works if you remember the subject line. Wedding galleries all look alike: “Your gallery is ready!”
The gallery platform. Has the link, behind a login, on a laptop.
Waiting until you’re at your desk. The client asked at 7 PM. By the time you’re back at the desk, it’s the next morning.
Set it up
- Connect the inbox you deliver galleries from (Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook or Microsoft 365). Sign in with Google or Microsoft; your password stays with them.
- Add your phone number and text alfred_ once from that phone. That turns texting on.
- When a client asks, text alfred_: “Find the gallery link I sent the Morales wedding and send it back to Ana.”
- Optional: “Text me when a client asks for their gallery or download link,” so the request reaches you without opening email. See Email rules.
What it looks like
alfred_: Ana Morales, 7:12 PM: “My mom wants to order prints, can you resend the gallery link?”
You: find the gallery link i sent them in august and send it back, say it’s live through the end of the year
alfred_: Found it in your Aug 21 email “Your gallery is ready!” Here’s the reply to Ana: “Hi Ana, here’s your gallery again: [link]. It’s live through the end of the year, so your mom can order prints any time.” Send it?
You: send
Illustrative exchange. The client and names are invented.
Where each step happens
- Phone, anywhere: the request and the reply both happen by text, in iMessage on iPhone or RCS or SMS on Android.
- Answering: “send” or “yes” sends it; anything else changes it first.
- Desktop: the reply sits in the client’s thread in your inbox, like any email you sent.
The honest caveat
alfred_ finds links that are in the mail you connect. If the gallery went out only from your gallery platform’s own email, paste the link and alfred_ writes the reply around it. Check the link in the preview before you say send, especially if you’ve delivered more than one gallery to the same client. alfred_ is a paid product; plans are on the pricing page.
