Another AI assistant wants to sit on top of your email, calendar and cards. Here is what Hark released, what it says the assistant does, and what it costs.
What happened
On October 6, 2026, Hark released Hark Pro widely, TechCrunch reported. Hark is “a startup founded less than a year ago by serial founder Brett Adcock,” and its design is led by Abidur Chowdhury, who designed devices at Apple.
TechCrunch reported that Hark sees its mission as “building a user interface for AI,” and that it promises an AI-native device in 2027. On privacy, Chowdhury told TechCrunch: “we’re not here to like sell you ads and steal your data.”
What Hark does with email and calendar
Hark’s site describes Hark Pro as “A new kind of system for getting things done. Whatever you need, let Hark handle it.” TechCrunch reported that its model is trained to operate a computer, so it carries out tasks rather than only answering questions:
- Your accounts: users “configure it to access their digital life”: email, calendar, hard drive and credit cards.
- Proactive asks: in the demo, it “proactively asked him about expenses he needed to approve, emails he needed to respond to,” then offered to book a flight for an upcoming trip.
- End-to-end tasks: TechCrunch’s example is renewing a car registration on the California DMV website, with the agent’s browsing shown in a small window.
- Email on Hark’s own site: example requests include “Help me manage and sort my email” and submitting expenses from email receipts.
Neither TechCrunch nor Hark’s site names which email or calendar providers it supports.
What it costs
Hark’s pricing page lists three plans, as of October 30, 2026:
- hark pro: free to use.
- pro²: $20 a month, for twice the usage.
- pro³: $100 a month, for ten times the usage.
Hark says all features are in all plans. It runs in the browser and on iOS and Android.
If you run client work over email
Hark is built as a general system for anything you hand it, from email to errands. If the problem is client email slipping, alfred_ is built for that job.
alfred_ is an AI assistant for client-facing teams, and each person on the team gets their own. It reads your email across up to six Gmail, Outlook and IMAP accounts, flags the emails that need your answer, and keeps one list of the replies you owe and the replies you’re waiting on. It sends a morning brief by email or text, and you can ask it for things on the web, on iPhone, or by text. Nothing is sent until you approve it. Plans start at $29.99 a month, and teams are $49.99 a seat on one bill.
