What can a rule do?
File an email to a folder or label, archive it, mark it read, star it, forward it, keep a sender on top, or text you when it lands.
Do rules work on Outlook?
Yes. Rules run on Gmail (including Google Workspace) and Outlook (including Microsoft 365), with the folders and labels you already have.
Can a rule forward email to someone?
Yes. Say who, and every matching email is forwarded to them from your account. A forwarding rule only forwards mail that arrives after you make it.
Do rules run on email I already have?
New rules run on every email that comes in. When you make one, alfred_ also shows you the recent mail it would have caught, and applies the rule to those only if you say so. Forwarding and text rules only run on new mail.
What if a rule catches the wrong email?
Tell alfred_ and it changes the rule. Filed or archived mail isn't deleted: it's still in Gmail or Outlook, and you can move it back to your inbox.
How do I turn a rule off?
Ask alfred_ to change it or turn it off. You can also delete any rule in Settings, under Rules.
Is there a limit on how many rules I can have?
No. Make as many as you need.
