# Troubleshooting

Most problems come from an account that needs reconnecting. Start there, then check the specific symptom below. If it's still wrong, tell alfred_ "report this as a bug".

## Start here: your accounts

Open **Settings → Connected Accounts**. If an account says it needs attention, click **Reconnect**. This is the usual fix when mail stops arriving, the calendar looks empty, or booking links show no times. Sign-ins usually expire after a password change.

## By symptom

| Symptom | Check |

| No morning brief | That it's on, and its time, on Routines → Morning brief; your [quiet hours](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/preferences#quiet-hours); and that Texts from alfred_ is on under Settings → Notifications. Turn on Also by email for a copy by email. |
| alfred_ won't text me | Your phone is saved in Settings → Preferences and you've texted alfred_ once from it. See [Text messages](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/ways-to-use/text). |
| A routine didn't run, or failed | Open it on Routines to see its recent runs and what it sent. Check that its accounts are connected, and your credits on Settings → Plan & Billing. |
| An email isn't on my follow-up list | It joins after a working day. See [Follow-up tracking](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/email/follow-up-tracking#if-a-thread-is-missing-or-wont-leave). |
| An answer misses an email | Check the account is connected, then ask again with the sender's name. |
| An email I need was archived | Auto-archive files low-priority mail. Find it in Archive, then say "anything from this sender is important", or turn Auto-archive off under Settings → Email. |
| A reminder didn't arrive | The task needs a reminder time, not just a due date, and texts must be on. See [Reminders](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/tasks#reminders). |
| Outlook says "Need admin approval" | See [Microsoft 365 admin approval](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/connect/microsoft-admin-approval). |
| Google says "This app is blocked" | Your Workspace admin restricts third-party apps. See [Gmail](https://get-alfred.ai/docs/connect/gmail). |
| A meeting shows at the wrong time | Check your time zone under Settings → Preferences. |

## Common questions

**Will alfred_ send email without my approval?** An email you ask alfred_ to write is shown to you first and goes only when you approve it. The exceptions are things you set up yourself: an email rule that forwards mail, a routine you've told to send without asking, and a meeting thread you copy alfred_ on.

**Does alfred_ train on my email?** No. Your email isn't used to train alfred_ or any third-party model.

**Can I connect more than one inbox?** Yes: up to six accounts in any mix of Gmail, Outlook, IMAP and Microsoft shared mailboxes, plus iCloud calendars.

**Is there a phone app?** Yes, for iPhone. You can also text alfred_ from any phone.
